Strategic Directions 2012

The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Policy Committee with the endorsement of the Board of Directors have introduced changes to the process related to Resolutions.

We will focus on long term Strategic Directions as well as continue to work with local members and chambers on specific issues and resolutions.

The characteristics of Strategic Direction actions include:

• Formulation of the basis of a body of policy work that points to a direction on the future course of action for the Chambers;
• These strategies will not be inhibited by the one year closure that our bylaws have on resolutions;
• The inclusion of these strategies is also to provide the membership with a focused view of the type of complicated and challenging issues that we are facing in the future.

To summarize the key directions for 2012-2013 (and beyond)

1. The Watershed of the Future; Cleaning up Lake Winnipeg, Protecting The Land From Flooding and how it relates to clean tech

2. Health of Manitobans and the future of healthcare

3. Northern Economic Development and the Arctic

4. Bold New Pathway for Manitoba
