Policy-based advocacy is at the forefront of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Network’s relationship with the provincial government and the Annual Deputy Ministers’ Dinner supplements this process every spring. Developed to bring business and community leaders together for the unique opportunity to connect directly to the action drivers in the Manitoba government, the Deputy Ministers.
The role of Manitoba’s Deputy Ministers is to ensure the goals and outcomes of the provincial government are met. While often working outside the public spotlight, they are invaluable sources of information and knowledge about their ministries.
With all of the changes from this spring’s provincial budget, there are both challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The mission of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) is to create the best environment for doing business. Your voice is an important part of MCC’s efforts to ensure we protect and improve key business conditions related to areas such as economic competitiveness, workforce issues, taxes, rural and northern economic development and more in Manitoba.
The MCC is honoured to present this opportunity by bringing the individuals who drive our organization to the same table as the Executive Council for a face-to-face conversation with the people who are most influential in advising on and shaping public policy. Each roundtable is a buzz; hosted by a different Deputy Minister or Assistant Deputy Minister, allowing an informal exchange of ideas, concerns, and opinions with the Manitoba Government’s top officials, who are responsible for effectively implementing political decisions.
The 2017 Annual Deputy Ministers’ Dinner will be held Thursday, June 8th, at The Fairmont Winnipeg. Reception starts at 5:30 pm, formal program commencing at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $145 + GST and are very limited.
