Career Trek Appoints New  Executive Director, Patricia Hamilton and Former Executive Director, Darrell Cole, steps into Founder & CEO role

Patricia Hamilton is CareerTrek's new Executive Director

Career Trek’s Board of Directors is happy to announce the appointment of Patricia Hamilton as its new Executive Director.

Patricia brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked in multiple industries ranging from construction, government and corporate banking. An Aboriginal woman raised in Edmonton, Patricia has called Winnipeg home after working in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto.

Patricia will be bringing her 10 years of experience working in urban Aboriginal community organizations committed to education, training and employment, to Career Trek. Prior to her new role, Patricia was with the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development Inc. in Winnipeg as their Employment Services Coordinator.

“We’re confident in Patricia’s abilities and experience to lead Career Trek in its expansion and growth,” says Barb Bowen, Chair – Board of Directors. “We’re ecstatic to have her as part of the Career Trek family and we look forward to working with her.”

Career Trek’s former Executive Director, Darrell Cole, will be stepping into a Founder & CEO role.

“It took 16 years to get to this point, and I’m happy to be working alongside some very talented people to take Career Trek to the next level,” says Darrell. “Patricia is a welcome addition to the team and I’m excited to draw on her expertise as we head into this next phase for the organization.”

As a not-for-profit organization, we strive to provide students as young as 10 years old, with hands-on career experiences. We do this to tap into their potential and to ignite their passion to pursue post-secondary education. Students are able to experience as many as 80 occupations in 17 fields through our programs and projects, which reaches parts of Skownan First Nation, Parkland Region, The Pas and more. At Career Trek we believe in helping youth answer that age-old question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
