Meet the Ministers Video: Manitoba’s Ag Minister Answers 5 Questions

Brief Bio:

Stan Struthers was born in Swan River, raised and educated in several rural towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from Brandon University and a Masters of Education from the University of Manitoba. His teaching career included positions at the Norway House Cree Nation, Swan Valley, Rorketon Collegiate and Winnipegosis High School. 

In 1995 he was first elected as the MLA for Dauphin-Roblin. He was re-elected in 1999 and again in the 2003 and 2007 general elections. On November 4, 2003, he was sworn in as the Minister of Conservation and on November 3, 2009 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives by Premier Selinger.
