It is with great sadness that the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce has learned of the passing of George Dyck.

George was a successful entrepreneur and dedicated to his community – in particular Manitoba’s chamber movement (including over 50 years with the Boissevain Chamber and a stint as President of the MCC in 1982-1983).

In 2008 he received a Legacy Award from the MCC. See the video below and click here for more coverage of that event.

Recently his business, Du Rite Motors, was nominated for a 2009 Manitoba Business award in the “Long Term Business – Rural” category. Below is a video profile of George and his business.

Our condolences to George’s family.

  1. Regrettably, I just learned of George’s passing this week. We had been friends for many years, going back to 1981 and the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce. We both served as presidents. From the MCC connection, my wife and I got to know George and Ruth and members of their family and visited Boissevain on many occasions. My career took me to Toronto, Vancouver and eventually Calgary; however, we kept in touch wherever we were and would see George and Ruth while they visited their children in B.C. (Debbie) and Calgary (Randall).

George was a terrific person, as a member of the MCC, as a businessman, as a member of the Boissevain community, and as a friend. We will miss him.
