Contributing a Video or Article to BTO

Basic Concept:

To get interest/buzz the issue covered has to be genuinely topical and provide information that is of use to the viewer. Further to this end, it can’t be a commercial for the contributor’s company (readers sniff this out right away and, when they do, they stop reading).

These elements are absolutely crucial to the success of this endeavor so we will be quite hard line about it. In the long run this also benefits the contributor (see ‘Benefits’). 

As a rule of thumb, the advice and insight you provide should not mention your business by name.

It’s free – it’s all part of the Manitoba Chambers’ commitment to foster, inspire, and promote this province’s entrepreneurial spirit.

 

Benefits: 

The contributor benefits as, if they impress the viewer, the viewer may seek out their services.

You also benefit by getting feedback on your advice and helping fellow entrepreneurs and community leaders.  

 

How To Contribute:

If you are contributing an article: It will feature your picture (if you wish) as well as your name and title, the name of the business and its website. It will be placed on the website that links over 10,000 businesses and community leaders, so the profile is quite substantial.  

If you are contributing a video: It can feature your business’ logo at the beginning and end and the name and title of whoever is speaking in the video and mention your company’s contact information and website should the viewer wish more information on the topic.

The video will be placed on YouTube so make sure it complies with YouTube’s rules (e.g. is under ten minutes. Go to YouTube.com for more information). Note: we are willing to place your video on YouTube for you. 

Note we have a feature that also displays our site’s most popular posts.  

We will do our best to post the submissions on a first-come, first-served basis.
